Shea butter: produced out of the wonderful shea nuts from the magic shea trees. Shea nuts are primarily grown in the African continent, mainly in west Africa region and subregions especially in the federal republic of Nigeria. Shea butter has two main varieties namely: vitalleria paradoxa and vitalleria nilotica. Vitalleria paradoxa is in highest demand and is exported in largest volume and it grows throughout west Africa. In Mali, it serves as a big catalyst and tool for poverty reduction as in the rural areas as they were preceding in the production of Shea butter. Currently Nigeria is largest producer of Shea butter in west Africa.
