“SyGuru” make welding set energy saver is an innovative way to save substantial energy on welding jobs. Welding is not a continuous job, there are pauses for inspection, chipping, repositioning, welding rod changes and even welders personal relaxation periods when physically no welding is performed but the power to welding machine remains ON. Most of the times, such pauses are short , unplanned and the welding takes place at a far-away distance where it is not possible to physically reach the welding set to switch off the power supply to the welding machine. Thus, welding sets remain continuously ON, irrespective of the fact whether the actual welding is being performed or not. During such idle periods, the welding machine (transformer/Rectifier circuit) remains ON and it draws the magnetizing current / No load power. This is a loss of energy as no welding is being performed. The “SyGuru” has an intelligent microprocessor and electronic circuitry that senses such idle periods (no weld periods) and switches off the power to the welding machine after a preset time delay to save the power. The beauty of the logic built into the circuit is that as soon as the welder touches the welding electrode to the job, the welding machine is switched ON instantly and the welder can continue his task without him ever feeling that the machine was switched off.
