SabFlex PU 1C is a single component, moisture cured, elastomeric polyurethane sealant for expansion joints. It has extremely high thixotropy and high strength. SabFlex PU 1C is manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001/14001 quality assurance program. Areas of application Expansion joints in heavy and light fabrication and traditional masonry. It adheres to most supports in the building industry i.e., concrete, glass and oxidized aluminum. Product Features It is a single component system and is therefore very easy to apply. It bonds and seals at the same time. Has a very high thixotropy for excellent gap filling properties. Adheres to almost all the substrates used in building Industry. Can be over painted Is shock / impact resistant. Has excellent weather and water resistance. Chemical Resistance SabFlex PU IC is resistant to fresh water, seawater, limewater, sewage, effluent, dilute acids and bases. Temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats. It has low resistance to organic acids, alcohol, concentrated mineral acids and caustic solutions or solvents. Exposure to UV rays can change the color slightly. This however, does not affect the mechanical properties of the cured solvents. The above information is offered for general guidance only. Method of Application Surface Preparation The surface must be dry, stable and properly cured. The surface must be made clean, made dry and free concrete oil, grease or rust. All loose particles or residue must be removed with a jet of compressed air, sand paper or hard mix brush. Application If necessary, use a thin layer of PU primer on the surface. Allow the primer to dry and place the sausage in the gun and put on the nozzle. Cut the tip of the nozzle to joint size. Ensure uniform thickness. Do not apply at temperatures below 10 C or above 40 C. Apply the sealant in one layer for joints of small width, in the three layers for joints of large width, the two first onto the edges of the joint and the third onto the bottom. Smooth with water free of additives. Press the sealant correctly against the edges and the bottom of the joint while avoiding the air bubbles inclusion. Remove the masking ribbons. Precautions: Since system is moisture-cured, permit sufficient exposure to air. Do not apply over silicones or in the presence of silicones. Avoid contact with alcohol, and alcohol containing solvents, during cure. For best results, use opened cartridges the same day.
