Fused zirconia mullite is a kind of high purity refractory materials, which is prepared by melting high purity zirconite and alumina according to the relevant proportion in electric arc furnace, then cooling. Fused zirconia mullite is characterized by good homogenization, low porosity, good thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion coefficient and good slay resistance. It is the ideal material for producing high grade refractory products, such as zirconia-based slide plate, stopper, long nozzle and sliding gate nozzle. When zirconia mullite is used as aggregate in these products, their thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance are improved by crystal phase transition of zirconia in zirconia mullite about 1000-1200 Centigrade with 7%-9% volume shrinkage and microwaves formation in crystal grain.
