MDI is between 20% and 70% faster than TECH 2, and as no ASTRA J / INSIGNIA software will be added to TECH 2, is an important investment to keep you up to date with the latest models and beyond. This system can also be used to update a TECH 2 to the latest software release and enable full security and programming access. As well as all this, the MDI interface is J2534 pass through compliant, meaning that it can also be used to re-program and configure any vehicle ECU using the manufacturers software supplied under the new EURO 5 regulations (subscription required), and can also be used with other manufacturers full Diagnostic system software such as the TOYOTA TECHSTREAM, thus adding the benefit of not having to buy another interface.
