Fly ash brick (FAB) are building materials, specifically masonry units, containing Class C fly ash and water. Compressed at 4,000 psi and cured for 24 hours in a 150 °F (66 °C) steam bath , then toughened with an air entrainment agent, the bricks last for more than 100 freeze-thaw cycles. Owing to the high concentration of calcium oxide in class C fly ash, the brick can be described as "self-cementing". The manufacturing method is said to save energy, reduce mercury pollution, and costs 20% less than traditional clay brick manufacturing. The raw material that is used for fly ash brick are: Fly ash, Sand/Stone dust, Lime, Gypsum, Cement. Flyash bricks are lighter than clay bricks. Fly Ash brick is thus environment friendly. There is no salt deposit on this brick. Construction with this brick gives fine finishing to the structure in comparison with Clay Bricks. Construction with these bricks saves cement quantity in construction up to 30-35%. Our standard size of this brick is 2.75" * 4" * 9" and weight is up to 2.8-3.0 Kg with red and grey colour. We can supply bricks in to sizes as required by buyer. If buyer have choice of their material specification (i.e. different proportions of mixture) we can manufacture bricks according to their demand. We can supply this product in any quantity. Due to high strength, practically no breakage during transport & use. The advantages of these bricks are 1) Due to uniform size of bricks mortar required for joints & plaster reduces almost by 50%. 2) Due to lower water penetration seepage of water through bricks is considerably reduced. 3) Plaster of Paris / Gypsum Plaster can be directly applied on these bricks without a backing coat of plaster. 4) These bricks do not require soaking in water for 24 hours. Only sprinkling of water before use is enough.
