Valley of flowers

The Valley of Flowers is a mesmerizing national park located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, in the northern part of India. The park is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, diverse flora, and colorful flowers that bloom in the monsoon season. This enchanting valley is situated at an elevation of about 3,500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lush green meadows, and glistening streams. The Valley of Flowers was declared a national park in 1982 and later inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. It spans an area of approximately 87.5 square kilometers and is part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. The park is open to visitors only during the summer months, from June to October, when the snow has melted and the flowers are in full bloom. One of the most remarkable features of the Valley of Flowers is its stunning floral diversity. The park is home to hundreds of species of flowers, including rare and endemic varieties. Some of the most notable flowers found in the valley are the blue poppy, Himalayan edelweiss, brahma kamal, and the cobra lily.
