Are there any alternatives to soap? Or any natural ones. I prefer the soaps without the chemicals?
Yes, there are natural alternatives to soap that you can use to clean your skin without the use of chemicals. In fact, some of these alternatives can be better for your skin than soap. Here are some options:
1. Cleansing oils: One of the most important parts of your skincare regime is cleansing. As you know, most make-up products and sunscreens are water resistant hence don’t dissolve in water and can clog pores. Hence, you should always go for oil based cleansing. Cleansing oils, cleansing balms are best to use. After this step, use a gentle mild face wash. They are effective at removing dirt and makeup, and they can help to moisturize your skin. Some popular cleansing oils include coconut oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil.
2. Rich Moisturizing Body washes: Body washes are perfect with different solutions of skin problems. For body acne or redness, tiny little bumps over skin, smooth texture, strawberry skin, these body washes are designed according to your needs making your skin supple and plump. Plus point is that unlike soap, it doesn’t draw moisture from your skin. It also can soothe irritated skin, and it can be used as an exfoliant(salicylic acid, glycolic or lactic acid based body washes) to remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.
3. Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar has acidic properties that can help to balance the pH levels of your skin. It can also help to remove dirt and oil from your skin, and it can be effective at treating acne-prone skin. To use apple cider vinegar as a cleanser, mix it with water in a 1:3 ratio, and then apply it to your skin using a cotton ball.
4. DIY soap: As your requirements, this can be completely customized. You can make your own soap using natural ingredients like glycerin, shea butter, Aloe Vera, cocoa butter, and olive oil. This way, you can control what goes into your soap and avoid harsh chemicals.
Please note that if you have sensitive acne-prone skin, please check your dermat before applying anything on your face.
What is the difference between rose essential oil and rose absolute?
Rose essential oils and rose absolute are two different types of oils extracted from the petals of the rose flower. The main difference between the two is the method of extraction. Rose essential oil is extracted through steam distillation, while rose absolute is extracted through solvent extraction.
Rose essential oil is more expensive than rose absolute because it takes tens of thousands of rose blossoms to make just a tiny bottle of rose oil. It is used in aromatherapy for its relaxing and balancing effects, and is found in many cosmetic products. Rose absolute oil, on the other hand, is not as powerful as rose essential oil and is often used as a fragrance oil.
Is oil manmade or naturally produced?
Oils are mostly man made and produced by crushing or grinding various seeds or elements. For example, mustard oils are produced by mustard seeds, sesame seeds.
On the other hand, oils also naturally occur in yellowish-black liquid mixture of mainly hydrocarbons, and are found in geological formations. It is formed from the remains of tiny plants and animals such as algae and zooplankton that fall to the bottom of the sea once they die and over time, get trapped under multiple layers of sand and mud. These are crude or refined oils. Ex- Petroleum
